Last weekend, we presented at the Bravo Bridal Event, a little wedding show. The way Bravo designs the show is by assigning a florist and planner to create a theme and decor for each room. We were lucky enough to be assigned a room with Adria Sparhawk, the lovely talent behind Lavish Flora. While I had seen her work before, I hadn’t meet Adria in person, and was glad to finally do so. Our room’s theme was Vintage Spring, beautifully executed in a sweet and pretty butter yellow, red and white.
Lavish created the floral designs for Roger and Lynn’s lovely wedding last summer.

Yesterday I came across my proposed design for Connie and Stewart’s winter wedding which was at Silcox Hut late last year. It’s a great example of how a small, simple album can capture the entire spirit and feeling of the day.
I suggested a rustic brown leather cover in keeping with the rugged spirit of the lodge. I enjoy how the combination of larger and supporting images tell a nuanced story about the big things and all the little details that are part of a wedding day.
I heard yesterday that the couple are planning to order this album or something like it. It will be our pleasure to create such a sweet memento of a lovely wedding day.
For the last 5 days, we’ve been sweating our way through a big outage with our webhost. When finally things were resolved this morning (thank you Westhost!) we were happy to learn that one of our images won an ISPWP award. I don’t even mind that it’s 9th place, since ISPWP is an international organization and the other winners are some of the finest images I’ve ever seen. We’re delighted just to be included in the mix. And we also want to say thank you to our clients, Janna and Daniel who were such a pleasure to photograph last summer.
I’d call this a perfect winter wedding. Small, intimate, cozy–and surprisingly, snowy! After dressing at the Hotel Deluxe, Colleen along with her nearest & dearest made their way to Holy Trinity in Beaverton for a mid-afternoon service with their closest friends and family.
We had the opportunity to meet Colleen when we photographed her brother’s wedding last November. It’s a special treat for us when we have the chance to shoot for people who are already nearly friends.
We’d planned some outdoor photos after the ceremony, but the surprise snow did put the tiniest hitch in our plans. If you look carefully, Colleen’s gorgeous wedding attire included 4″ red suede pumps. 3″ of slushly snow is NOT the ideal footing for this. However, short as it was, I LOVE the photos of Kevin and Colleen on the path behind the Hillsboro Library.
Later, everyone gathered at the Screening Room for an intimate dinner celebration. Toasts, smiles, and festivity ensued. Congrats to you both, Colleen and Kevin! Here’s a few of our favorites set to music.
