Mary & Matt, St Patrick’s Cathedral, June 18, 2011

Rain on your wedding day portends luck for the couple! So consider Matt and Mary among the luckiest. But they didn’t need Saturday’s rain; their good fortune was to meet and fall in love. Their wedding last Saturday at St Patrick’s Cathedral was a romantically elegant celebration.

Mary was radiant during her preparations. Calm, steady and lovely. In a twist from the ordinary, Matt seemed the one with a butterfly or two. But any trace of nervousness vanished the moment he laid eyes on Mary. My favorite photos from the day are of Matt and Mary meeting up privately before the whirlwind of the day began. Love lights up their faces and they seem to fit together perfectly.

A wedding mass at St Patrick’s Cathedral united the couple. A vintage Bentley conveyed the new couple to the Benson where they had a private cocktail hour with their wedding party. As the main celebration began, Matt and Mary were announced into the sparkling ballroom as Mr. and Mrs. An elegant meal, heartfelt toasts and romantic dances put a lovely finish on the evening.
