For the last several days while we’ve been editing Erin and Tyler’s lovely outdoor wedding, we’ve been grinning like fools. I dare you: take a look at Erin’s smile, especially when she’s with Tyler and within minutes you’ll be smiling too. Have you ever seen a girl look so delightfully happy? So in love? So genuine? There are many things to share about this sweet couple. As you can see, Tyler is a tough guy on the outside and a little bit of a goofball on the inside. He’s an Army medic (could you guess?) and the couple planned their wedding and two-day honeymoon around one of his rare leaves from duty.
There is a really good reason why this couple looks so happy when they are together. I learned from Erin’s wedding blog that while Erin and Tyler have been together for more than three years, because of his service and other logistics, they’ve been able to spend only about 150 days in the same place. She says that “they’re looking forward to the day when they lose count.”
Erin and Tyler married at her family home. It’s a pretty lucky girl whose Dad builds her a barn in which to hold a wedding. (Absolute truth!) I’m told he has plans to develop a winery in the future, but I think a beautiful barn for a wedding is a fantastic wedding present. Erin’s dress has graced three generations of weddings in her family. Erin told us she found a seamstress who reworked her mother and grandmother’s dress into the wedding gown of her dreams.
My favorite part of the day was at sunset on the hill above the barn. Tyler led Erin through the tall grass as the last bit of sunlight raked across the vineyard. That last moment is the image that I’ll remember most when I think about this wedding. Congratulations Erin and Tyler! Thank you so much for having us as your photographers.
