Few weddings have left me feeling as happy Helen and Rory’s from September. As I look back over the photos from this perfect summer day –I can still feel all the happiness that was in the air. Even though Helen was exacting in her plans (can you believe she and Rory planned everything in about 6 months?) when the big day came, she was worry-free, laughing and kidding with everyone. My favorite part of the day was the time we had at the Portland Park Block. Gorgeous weather, perfect skies, fun and friendly wedding party, sweet parents and the happiest bride and groom–could a person even ask for more?
Montgomery Park was transformed into a light and airy setting for the ceremony and reception. Helen and Rory chose a palette of vivid pinks, yellows and orange set off against a cool green teal. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails downstairs while the upstairs was transformed for the party. Rory and Helen were announced into the reception and kicked off the celebration with their first dance. One of the evening’s big surprises came during the Father-Daughter dance. They switched gears mid-dance and entertained everyone with a high-octane dance, Gangnam Style!
